North Fork Lodge is
approximately 50 miles from Canada and 50 miles from Montana.
The Lodge is located five miles north of Tioga,
ND, a small farming and ranching community.
"Tioga" is the Indian name for "Peaceful
Valley."
North Fork was built in the early 1980's and is 6,000 square feet
with four guest bedrooms, a hot tub, and a 4,500 square foot deck.
North Fork is part of the XL Ranch, a working cattle ranch and
small grain operation. The ranch headquarters (6 miles east of
North Fork) is in the scenic White Earth Valley. The Valley
has a rich and colorful history. One mile north of the ranch
is Battle Hill, site of a former Indian village and battle between
the Sioux and Assinaboine Indian tribes.
